This ancient meadowland with a freshwater spring, just north of Lexden, is owned and managed by Colchester Council. Grassland like this is now very scarce and is generally rich in wild flowers. Here you will find a large colony of devilsbit scabious and also harebell and pignut.
Visiting
Via Spring Lane, a turning off Lexden Road (A1124), Colchester.
Bus services run along Lexden Road.
Accessible at all times.
