Grassland beside the River Chelmer on the north-east fringe of Great Dunmow, owned and managed by the Town Council. The river is only a stream at this point and has the distinction of holding a population of native white-clawed crayfish which, as a result of introduced foreign species, are in retreat in many of our rivers.
