This long narrow common is a flower-rich grassland bounded by ancient hedgerows. It is managed by local residents.
Notable plants that grow here include sulphur clover and lady's bedstraw, and occasionally bee orchids. The thick hedges provide good nesting habitat, and turtle doves – a bird in steep decline – have nested here recently. The permanent pond supports great crested newts.
